GLOBALTOUCH TELECOM DEVELOPMENT TEAM
Our CTO, Vladimir Smelyansky, is the chief architect of our own VoIP technology. He heads a team of telecom scientists and engineers that are a who’s who of modern telecom history. Mr. Smelyansky and his team also conceptualized and developed the first ever SIP-based Unified Communications system. The core of our development team all worked together at Webley Systems in the 1990’s merging a wide variety of technical backgrounds. Mr. Smelyansky is among the top architects of VoIP telephony services in the telecommunications industry.

His team began working on what is now called the GlobalTouch VoIP solution in the spring of 2002. The first VoIP call was made in July of that year. The first commercial installation followed in July 2003. Since then, our VoIP platform has been deployed all around the world by resellers and carriers. The development team has garnered numerous awards including the Best of Show award at the Internet Telephony Conference & Expo, Spring 2004.

"My team has a lot of experience in telephony and other real-time systems development. This served us well over the last five years, which were dedicated to the development of our VoIP platform. And because we are telephony veterans, we have brought Quality of Service to VoIP where better than 0.1 sec response time is the standard. This approach of course makes up the foundation of our VoIP system design, as well as the peripheral technology we chose to support the GlobalTouch VoIP platform. We use no Java or other interpretive language for the switching part of the product. Despite the significant development cost saving that doing so would bring about.”

--Vladimir Smelyansky, CTO

In terms of IT, our VoIP solution is also supported by one of the most accomplished teams around. With years developing groundbreaking technology for Apple Computer and Aldus Corporation, Senior Vice President of our Information Services team, Mark Cutter, Senior VP, Information Services and Cliff Rees, our COO, spent the last seven years in the telecom industry designing, implementing and running cutting-edge network deployments, where real-time distributed transaction processing is tightly integrated with multi-tier client-server back office systems. This is the genesis of our IBO and Graphical User Interface (GUI).

“Information Technology is critical to the success of a telecommunications company.  The GlobalTouch Information Systems team has built on many years of telecom information processing experience in the design and implementation of our websites, gttrepsupport portal and back-end systems to provide a rich set of features to build the company on.  We are excited about working with the latest technologies to meet the needs of our reps with new features as the company grows.”
